An intriguing name, a hands-on brew bar and a wide collection of globally sourced coffee. I visited the cafe on 3rd July 2020 with Zachary, Riya, Ivy and Jennifer (no, I wasn’t forced to name them). It is the sister cafe of the very Instagram worthy – Chye Seng Huat Hardware (https://www.instagram.com/cshhcoffee/?hl=en)
Fun fact; PPP Coffee is a rebranding of Papa Palheta. One reason being – customers found it hard to pronounce the name.
Ambience –
A futuristic-looking cafe that fits in perfectly with the revamped Funan mall. The baristas are all very friendly and informative, happy to explain to you your coffee’s flavour profile. You can also brew your own coffee at the experience bar.

Aroma –
Slight hazelnut with a hint of coffee bitterness.

Presentation –
The coffee was served in simple yet elegant cups. The art was done to perfection. I was especially impressed with the assortment of latte art.

Body and Taste –
A delicate infusion of dark chocolate and nutty flavour profiles. The coffee was well balanced with a creamy milk aftertaste.

Cost –
A regular-sized Flat White was priced at $6.50. I think this is reasonable considering their speciality beans are ethically sourced. Each coffee bean can be traced back to its origin. Their seasonal coffees and speciality cold brews are priced between $7.50-$8.50.

The Verdict –
Great cafe to stop by if you’re around town, more so if ‘coffee culture’ intrigues you. There’s so much to see, learn and taste here. PPP coffee is one to visit to redefine your experience of drinking coffee.
