Surround yourself with books, a good cuppa and spend a lazy afternoon at The Book Cafe. With titles spanning from ‘The Da Vinci Code’ to ‘Naruto’, there are books to cater to every need. I visited the cafe on 23rd July 2020!
Fun fact; their breakfast cup series has three shots of espresso and is served in a cup almost twice the size of my fist. Order one for an extended caffeine fix! The water they serve is orange-infused and I highly recommend a glass before heading out. It’s very refreshing!
Ambience –
Comfortable and cosy sofas but almost always occupied. Shelves of books with a sleek interior. It’s easy to spend hours sitting here, sipping coffee over a good book. Sadly, the sofa space is limited, can’t be reserved in advance and we had to be content with outdoor seating. The service is super quick and staff are always on the lookout to take any requests.

Aroma –
Dark chocolate with hints of hazelnut.
7/10
Presentation –
Not exactly sure what the latte art was, but I liked the nice spiral. It looked exactly like the picture on their menu.
8/10
Body and Taste –
Thin and light-bodied. Sweet, creamy and milky taste. This is followed by a taste of dark chocolate. Aftertaste has sweet tones that linger.
8/10
Cost –
$5 for a flat white and $8 for a breakfast cup flat white. Although not a speciality coffee, the price is very affordable when compared to other cafe’s.
9/10
The verdict –
I love going to the library. I love drinking coffee. The fact that this cafe combines both is a dream come true. Be it a casual study session or an impromptu date, this cafe is a must-visit. Come early to try and grab a sofa spot. I recommend the breakfast cup if you’re planning to stay for a few hours.
